meet the team

Hazel works in general dentistry, as well as surgical procedures and also provides sedation for the practice to help people with dental anxiety cope with treatment. She has worked for many years in oral surgery and particularly enjoys the more challenging cases.

Hazel qualified from Glasgow University in 2003 and went on to gain her Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons in 2005. She worked in Tarbert, Loch Fyne for a year, then went on to work in Community Dental Service, followed by hospital dental work in both the Southern General and Crosshouse Hospital’s maxillofacial units. She learned a great deal about managing dental pain, acute and chronic dental conditions and gained a great deal of experience in Oral Surgery. She is currently taking referrals from other practices for patients requiring oral surgery or treatment under sedation.

Jilly joined the practice as an associate in 2016. She works in general and cosmetic dentistry, and is also trained in beauty therapy. She is also qualified to provide botox and fillers treatment, so worry no more about those wrinkles and frown lines! Jilly is also qualified in sedation for those patients who may be more nervous or have a dental phobia. Jilly is set to go on matenrity leave in November 2024 for a year, and as much as we're going to miss her, we're all looking forward to meeting the newest addition to the family!

Peter joined us in May 2023, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and skills from his many years working in Foxbar. When not at work, Peter enjoys travelling the world on holiday and getting in as much golf as his wife allows!

Kâren has worked in the practice since 2003 and assumed the role of practice manager in April 2016. She is a highly trained, experienced dental nurse, and her professional and friendly manner makes her perfect for the role of manager.

Karen works very closely with Michelle forming a great Practice Management Team, as well as Hazel and Colin to ensure the smooth day to day running of the practice to allow us to to provide the best care we can.

We are very fortunate to have Michelle rejoin our practice after several years away. She splits the role of practice manager with Karen and can usually be found at reception, welcoming patients and being the calm centre of the practice. She trained initially as a dental nurse at the practice some years ago before moving on to other fields. Luckily for us she has returned to the practice and between herself and Karen provides an amazing practice management team.

Marta has worked part time since 2019 and her friendly, happy personality has been a great addition to our team. She is very organised and is a huge asset in the surgery to try to keep the dentists organised too!

Lisa joined us in 2020 and works full time. She has over 10 years experience and is great at chatting to nervous patients to put them at their ease. Her commitment to the practice and her fantastic skills as our dental nurse soon made her stand out and we were delighted to offer her the role of head dental nurse, a role she has excelled at since!

Aimee started off in Abbey Dental Care as a trainee nurse, but quickly became a huge asset to the team. Her enthusiasm and genuine care for patients really shone, and she went from strength to strength with her skills, qualifying as a dental nurse in 2024. When not working, she likes to spend time with family and friends, and trying to get away for some sun as often as possible!

Hannah joined the practice as our trainee nurse. Her maturity and commitment to patients makes her a fantastic member of the team and she is quickly working her way to completing her dental nursing qualification!
